Hello Folks,
On Monday, March 10th, the California Department of Motor Vehicles reinstated my license to drive. YEAH!!!!!! Of course, I have to use hand controls but that is just fine with me. I feel as if I have a new found freedom. I now understand fully that driving is not a right but a privilege and I am so grateful for the privilege.
Now, next hurdle is to find a wheelchair that I can breakdown and put into the car so that I can be fully mobile if I decide to go somewhere and get out of the car – lol lol.
Beep Beep!!!
Congratulations on getting your license reinstated. Your story is amazing. I will continue to follow. I fell October 2010 and fractured my right fibula. September 2010 in a hospital for diagnosis? and physical therapy. From there (September 2010) to a skilled nursing center where I am still at. Not standing or walking. April 2014 I got some new MRIs done. I was told I have Transvere Myelitis. The diagnosis in 2010 had to do with neuropathy. A second opinion by the end of the month. If is so, at this point I am not sure what is in store. I do know that I have found inspiration in your blog and what you have gone and are going through. You are awesome! Sandra
Hello Sandra, Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. I am so glad that you will continue to follow. So, in 2010, we were both dealing with hospitals and waiting for answers! It seems that you are still in search of an accurate plan of care from your medical team. le It can be scary and daunting but please stay encouraged. I have found that in my fight to recover from Transverse Myelitis, that I have to be my own advocate. When I go to see a new doctor, I always take a written summary defining the disease. If you ever want to speak to me off line from this blog please feel free to contact me privately via my email at LetitiaCollins@me.com Thank you Sandra for saying I’m awesome…. you are pretty awesome too in case you don’t know! 🙂
